How does an open window change the expected benefit of the installed unit?

Air that comes in through an open window has not passed through the filter.

The label for the NanoFlashing™ Air Filter states: “This filter treats the air that passes through it.” It also states: “It works alongside ventilation and cleaning, not in place of them.” and “Results in a building depend on the system, the airflow, and how well the filter fits its track.” The filter captures airborne particles mechanically and by electrostatic attraction.
