What exactly am I buying, and what does the stated performance result mean for that product?

What is bought is a finished product made by a manufacturing partner: a NanoFlashing™ Air Filter, which is a panel filter for forced-air heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, or INHALO™, a wall-mounted air cleaner built around a NanoFlashing™ Air Filter.

LMS Technologies, Report LMS#9904, 28 April 2025, a single-pass fractional efficiency test on a 24 × 24 × 2 in. pleated air filter in an ASHRAE 52.2 test duct, in accordance with standard LMS aerosol test procedures, records an arithmetic mean efficiency of 75.4% across 16 to 604 nanometres for that filter; it is a single-pass laboratory result, not a result in a home. The Air page states that the filter “attracts and captures ultrafine particles and wildfire smoke, and destroys up to 99.99% of viruses, bacteria and fungal spores through a physical mechanism, with no power and no chemicals”, and the Validation page reports the laboratory testing behind that sentence; a laboratory result is not a result in a home. Every commercial NanoFlashing™ product is made by a manufacturing partner, in their facility, in their format. NanoFlashing™ is a permanent positive polarity engineered into filter media itself. It is a physical property of the filter. The Terms of Use state: “A reported result describes only what the identified test found.” The Terms of Use also state: “A test of C-POLAR material, a component, or a prototype does not establish the performance of a finished product that incorporates it.” and “Use evidence, specifications, instructions, and warnings specific to the actual finished product and use.” The manufacturer and seller of a finished product are responsible for its design, manufacture, labeling, instructions, claims, sale, and warranty, except for a responsibility C-POLAR expressly accepts in a Separate Agreement. A product is identified by the maker named on it. The manufacturing and distribution partners the company names on its About and Air pages are Aero Pro, AQ Filter, BGE Indoor Air Quality Solutions, Olympic International and VOLZ Filters, and the two products it names are INHALO™ and ReinFire™. NanoFlashing™ is a technology; the name, rating and sale of a product that carries it are set by that product's maker and seller.
