Does installing the filter require a certified or licensed installer, or can any HVAC technician or homeowner do it?

The label gives ordinary installation directions and states no requirement for a certified or licensed installer.

The NanoFlashing™ Air Filter label states: “Switch the system off at the thermostat or at the unit's disconnect before opening the filter access. Remove the used filter and discard it as directed under Storage and Disposal. Fit this filter into the filter track with the airflow arrow pointing toward the blower — that is, in the direction the air travels. Check that the filter sits square in the track with no gap at the frame. Air that passes around a filter is not treated by it. Close the access panel and switch the system back on.” It also states: “Do not install a filter whose media is torn, crushed, wet or visibly damaged.”
