Does a guest need to leave the unit running while out of the room?

Whether a room appliance is left running, and on what setting, is set by the manufacturer of that appliance; the filter itself draws no power.

The label for the NanoFlashing™ Air Filter states: “This filter treats the air that passes through it.” The filter captures airborne particles mechanically and by electrostatic attraction. The filter is passive. It draws no power, and it has no power supply, electrode, lamp or reservoir. In a forced-air system the system's own fan moves the air through the filter.
