The label sets one replacement rule for the filter, and it is read against each system.

The label states when to replace it: at the pressure drop or the replacement interval printed on it, whichever comes first. Results in a building depend on the system, the airflow, and how well the filter fits its track. Air that passes around a filter is not treated by it.
