Can an animal study be interpreted without assuming identical exposure in humans?

An animal study describes the endpoint it measured in that study, and the company does not extend it to people.

The studies the company names are single-endpoint studies, and it does not read them as a conclusion about long-term or repeated exposure. The Validation page names Product Safety Labs, Study 65321, Study 65322, Study 65323 and Study 65324, and states that NanoFlashing™ is tested under Good Laboratory Practice to US EPA Health Effects Test Guidelines. Each study was run on a sponsor-supplied sample, and each report prints its guideline and its completion date: Study 65321, U.S. EPA OPPTS 870.1100 (2002), 26 January 2024; Study 65322, OPPTS 870.1200 (1998), 16 January 2024; Study 65323, OPPTS 870.2500 (1998), 16 February 2024; and Study 65324, OPPTS 870.2600 (2003), by the Buehler method, 31 January 2024. A study describes the endpoint it measured, on the sample it measured, under the conditions it names. The company publishes no repeated-dose study, no chronic study, no genotoxicity study, no cumulative-exposure estimate and no extrapolation from one population to another, and it does not offer an acute result as any of those.

The Terms of Use state: “A reported result describes only what the identified test found,” and: “A laboratory reduction in a virus, bacterium, fungus, particle, or other endpoint does not establish a clinical benefit, fewer infections, disease prevention or treatment, or improved health.” A copy may be made available on our review of the request.
