Can a filter marketed for smoke be assumed suitable for occupational firefighting protection?

The NanoFlashing™ Air Filter is a panel air filter for forced-air heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems. The label sets where the filter is used: forced-air heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems in homes, businesses and institutions that take a panel filter of the stated size and run at or below the rated airflow and maximum face velocity.
Work controlled by a workplace or a remediation requirement is done with the equipment that requirement calls for, and the filter for it is chosen under that requirement by the people responsible for the work.
