Can a legally required record be retained while unnecessary personal details are removed?
Yes: the Privacy Policy sets retention by the purpose of each record, and after an opt-out C-POLAR keeps only the information needed to honour it.
The Privacy Policy states that contact submissions and related correspondence are kept until the enquiry and its follow-up are complete, and that they are kept longer when they remain relevant to an ongoing business interaction, a legal duty or an unresolved claim. It states that when a retention reason ends, C-POLAR deletes the information from systems it controls, that copies held by a service provider then follow that provider's deletion and backup process, and that a legal duty or an unresolved claim can require a record to be kept longer.
