Is rated airflow specified for a clean filter or a loaded filter?
The rated airflow and maximum face velocity on the label are the conditions the filter is to be used at or below; they are limits for use, not a performance figure measured on a loaded filter.
The label for the NanoFlashing™ Air Filter states a rated airflow and a maximum face velocity, and a replacement point set by pressure drop or by elapsed time, whichever comes first. It instructs: “Do not use where this filter would restrict airflow beyond the system's specification.” The company publishes no loaded-state airflow figure. C-POLAR markets a materials technology.
