Does a textile care claim cover domestic washing or industrial laundering?
Washing is one of the conditions the company names, and the record covers the washing that record describes.
Of the conditions the Validation page lists, the one that concerns washing is after 60 washes. Hong Kong Metropolitan University (formerly The Open University of Hong Kong), Test Report IRITS202102160001A, 17 February 2021, tested a plain cotton fabric, a polyester and cotton fabric and a polyester and spandex twill, each without washing and after 60 washes, under BS EN ISO 20743:2013. ISO 20743 is a contact test on fabric, and its activity value is a difference between a treated fabric and an untreated control; it is not an airborne result. The Textile page states that the fabric stays waterproof, breathable, strong and washable. The company does not publish which laundering process a wash condition stood for, and it does not distinguish a domestic wash from an industrial one on its pages. The Terms of Use state: “A reported result describes only what the identified test found.”
The Terms of Use also state that, as of their effective date, the Textiles chapter describes a Research Application, and that it does not describe a finished product currently available from C-POLAR for that use.
