Can salt spray entering a vessel's ventilation system affect the treated layer?
The label directs that the filter is used in dry air only, and that a filter whose media is wet or visibly damaged is not installed.
The label states the operating conditions: “Use in dry air only. Do not use in ducts carrying liquid water, steam or oil mist, or anywhere the media may become wet.” It instructs: “Do not install a filter whose media is torn, crushed, wet or visibly damaged.” and “Do not cut, fold, trim, bend, puncture or alter the filter or its frame.” Salt spray entering a ventilation system is a wet condition, and it is not among the conditions listed on the Validation page, which are heavy dust loaded, fast air flow, used filter for 1 year, after 60 washes, after 2 years of storage, and after 60C for 64 days; the company does not carry a result across to a condition a test did not cover.
