What storage and handling limits apply before the product is installed?

The label directs that the filter is stored flat or on edge in the original packaging, indoors and dry, away from direct sunlight and moisture, with no loads stacked on the media, and that a filter whose media is torn, crushed, wet or visibly damaged is not installed.

The label instructs: “Use in dry air only. Do not use in ducts carrying liquid water, steam or oil mist, or anywhere the media may become wet.” The conditions tested, listed on the Validation page, are heavy dust loaded, fast air flow, used filter for 1 year, after 60 washes, after 2 years of storage, and after 60C for 64 days. The company publishes no temperature or humidity range for a particular installation; those limits are set by the partner who makes the finished filter.
