A laboratory report describes what that test found on the article tested, and it does not establish how a finished installation behaves in a building, which is decided by the equipment, the installer and the building's own code review.

Do adhesives, frames or other assembly components change the applicability of the cited fire-performance evidence?

A report applies to the article that was tested.

The Validation page names UL 900, ULC-S111, DIN 53438 and EU RoHS, and the reports behind them, from Intertek Building & Construction, Intertek and RST Rail System Testing, are on the articles submitted for those tests. The UL 900 and ULC-S111 reports were run on complete filter units, a panel filter, a bag filter, a fan coil filter, a pleated filter and a pocket filter, and the DIN 53438-3 reports on filter media; an assembly with a different frame, adhesive or component is a different article, and for it the evidence is the one its maker holds. Can loose filter media be drawn into a fan if its retaining frame breaks?

A damaged filter is not to be installed, and the label says so.

The NanoFlashing™ Air Filter label directs that a filter whose media is torn, crushed, wet or visibly damaged not be installed, that the filter and its frame not be cut, folded, trimmed, bent, punctured or altered, and that the system not be run with no filter in the track. Would a blocked intake cause the powered appliance to overheat?

The filter is specified by a rated airflow and a maximum face velocity, and the label directs that it not be used where it would restrict airflow beyond the system's specification.
