Are transformation products included when evaluating any destruction claim?
The company publishes no analysis of transformation products; its destruction claim is for viruses, bacteria and fungal spores, and for PFOA its published claim is capture.
A measurement describes what was measured, and it does not stand in for verification of the water a person drinks. The Terms of Use state: “A reported result describes only what the identified test found,” and: “A laboratory reduction in a virus, bacterium, fungus, particle, or other endpoint does not establish a clinical benefit, fewer infections, disease prevention or treatment, or improved health.” They also state: “Site Content is general information. It is not medical, clinical, engineering, manufacturing, safety, or other professional advice,” and: “Use evidence, specifications, instructions, and warnings specific to the actual finished product and use.”
What a sample shows depends on how it was taken and on what else could have changed it, and those things belong to the record that reports the sample. Water quality at a tap is verified by the party responsible for that supply, under the rules that apply to it. The Water chapter describes a Research Application, and it does not describe a finished product currently available from C-POLAR for that use.
