Will I get a static shock if I touch the filter?
The company has not published anything about a shock or static sensation from touching the filter.
The company sets out the physical description of the charge in its Statement of Classification. NanoFlashing™ is a permanent positive polarity engineered into filter media itself. It is a physical property of the filter. The polarity is a positive electric charge at rest. The filter is passive. It draws no power, and it has no power supply, electrode, lamp or reservoir. For handling, the NanoFlashing™ Air Filter label states: “The frame edges can be sharp.” For a used filter it states: “Wear gloves, and eye protection and a dust mask where dust is heavy.” A question about handling the filter can be sent to [email protected].
