Should a filter be replaced after a building flood even if it later dries?
The label directs that the filter is used in dry air only, and that a filter whose media is wet or visibly damaged is not installed.
The NanoFlashing™ Air Filter label states its operating conditions: “Use in dry air only. Do not use in ducts carrying liquid water, steam or oil mist, or anywhere the media may become wet.” It also instructs: “Do not install a filter whose media is torn, crushed, wet or visibly damaged.” and “Do not wash, vacuum, brush, blow out or reuse this filter.”
The company publishes no result for a filter that has been wetted and then dried, and it does not carry a result across to a condition a test did not cover.
