Can an electronic lockout prevent use of an otherwise compatible replacement?
The NanoFlashing™ Air Filter has no electronics in it, and nothing in the filter has to be recognised before it works.
The filter is passive. It draws no power, and it has no power supply, electrode, lamp or reservoir. NanoFlashing™ is a permanent positive polarity engineered into filter media itself. It is a physical property of the filter. The label's directions are mechanical: fit the filter into the filter track with the airflow arrow pointing toward the blower, check that it sits square in the track with no gap at the frame, and replace it at the pressure drop or the interval printed on it, whichever comes first.
Whether an appliance asks for an identifier, a chip or an unlock before it will run is a function of that appliance, and it is set by the manufacturer that makes it. NanoFlashing™ is a technology; the name, rating and sale of a product that carries it are set by that product's maker and seller.
